[FMC] Paper: Whiteness and Farmers Markets: Constructions, Perpetuations, Contestations

I posted this for friends on the Comfood listserve yesterday and got some
requests to post this on this listserve.  It is based on research conducted
at the Davis and North Berkeley farmers' markets.  Please contact them
directly; their contact info is listed below.


Hi everyone,A few weeks ago, Luis was kind enough to post a talk that we
gave in Davis, CA called 'Whiteness and Farmers Markets: Constructions,
Perpetuations... Contestations?' We were really pleased by both the number
and content of responses we received. Many of those responses, especially
those from farmers market managers, asked for the paper. Over the past few
weeks, we've been working on a draft. We'd love any feedback you care to
send, including frustrations and critiques. Moreover, we're open to future
discussion, and are interested in the experiences and thoughts of the
activists, market managers, farmers and others on this list.
