This season, the Longmont Farmers' Market, (10 mi. north of Boulder, CO)
received a grant from Boulder County's Eco-Cycle to implement a zero-waste
program. The grant subsidized the recycling/compost containers, signs and
staff to help customers with the changes. It also subsidized the cost of the
flatware which was more than 20% of the cost of non-compostable flatware.
We have had one market with program in place and the customers (and media)
seemed to be very pleased with the program.
