Apologies for cross posting

I am delighted to help my Michigan State University colleagues tell
you about new free resources intended to build greater understanding
about farmers, farming and food. The Voices Project, an ongoing
effort supported by the W. K. Kellogg Foundation, the MSU Museum and
several state arts and humanities councils, was created as a way to
make the voices and experience of farmers engaged in sustainable
agriculture come alive and to stimulate discussion about the
economic, social and ecological issues that contemporary agriculture faces.

Who might use these resources?
* Extension educators, agriculture and natural resources educators at
universities and high schools
* Libraries, museums, community theater groups
* Farmers markets, food cooperatives, food councils
* 4-H and other youth programs
* Community education programs
* Diversity programs
* And many, many others

We invite you to visit the project web site,
http://foodfarmingandcommunity.org/ , where you will find a range of
resources now, with more coming. Right now you will find:

* Readers' theatre script for creating a shared experience to inspire
public exploration of agriculture and local food
* Essays on:
         -using civic dialogue as a way to engage community around these issues
         -doing readers' theatre
         -oral history
* Field work research reports on developing & testing the script with
sustainable and organic audiences.
* Book club and film Festival lists around sustainable agriculture
* Promotional materials and images

Coming in September 2008 are curriculum modules designed for adults
in the general public to learn more about food systems that benefit
personal health, the environment and the local economy.
