This listserv is available to Farmers Market Coalition members as well as its partners and supporters. Listserve Etiquette • Be courteous. • Include a signature tag on all messages. Include your name, affiliation, location, and e-mail address. • State concisely and clearly the topic of your comments in the subject line. This allows members to respond more appropriately to your posting and enables members to search the archives by subject. • Please refrain from posting advertisements, promotional flyers, newsletters, or announcements pertaining to an individual market or local event soley as a ‘show and tell’. While in theory we would welcome such announcements, the list could not sustain an overabundance of messages geared for a localized audience. • Include only the relevant portions of the original message in your reply. Delete any header information, and put your response before the original posting. • Send a message to the entire list only when it contains information from which everyone can benefit. The default for FMC’s list is to reply to the whole list, but please re-address your replies specifically to the original sender unless the you feel your message would be of interest to the whole list. • Send messages such as "thanks for the information" or "me, too" to individuals-- not to the entire list. • Do not send administrative messages, such as “remove me from the list,” through the listserv. To unsubscribe or to change your subscription options, visit http://lists.easilyamusedinc.com/mailman/listinfo/fmc If you are changing e-mail addresses, you do not need to remove yourself from the list and rejoin under your new e-mail address. Simply change your member profile. • Warn other list subscribers of lengthy messages either in the subject line or at the beginning of the message body with a line that says, "Long Message." • Warn other list subscribers of “water-cooler” type postings in the subject line with a line that says, “chatter.” • When generating a reply to a personal response, do not forward the personal response to the list without first obtaining permission from the sender. • Do not use automatic e-mail reply programs. Using fmc
To post a message to all the list members, send email to fmc@lists.farmersmarketcoalition.org. You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.
Subscribing to fmc
Subscribe to fmc by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. This is a private list, which means that the list of members is not available to non-members. Your email address:   Your name (optional):   You may enter a privacy password below. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext. If you choose not to enter a password, one will be automatically generated for you, and it will be sent to you once you've confirmed your subscription.
